In 1985, our science club took a trip to Mayo Clinic. It was noon, and all the courtyards were crammed with people in three-piece suits, sprawled out on the grass, trying to recharge themselves like a bunch of dying, well-dressed batteries. It all looked so pointless. I promised myself that I would never be like that.
And even though I now work at that exact same clinic, I'm still not like that, because three-piece suits are ridiculous.

No, you are NOT like that, and it's not just that you don't wear three piece suits. You also burn easily and grass makes you itch, so you've got that.
Really, though, you are not pointless and your coming and going is not pointless. And I'm glad you know that.
So, do the people still lay around in the grass? (I can't remember that part, personally)
Sorry, not bright enough to figure out how to put my name in. The previous message was brought to you by Stein C.
Hey Stein...no, I don't see many people actually lying down anymore. Now it's mostly people walking (a healthier approach) in tennies. I do that once in a while too...probably not enough though...
Thanks Carmen...I appreciate your noticing my ironic attempt at non-pointlessness. And also the itching and burning.
